Arc’teryx Gamma MX (Mixed Weather) is the warmest and most durable softshell jacket in the Gamma series (available in both Hoody and Jacket versions), engineered for mixed harsh conditions such as ice climbing, ski touring, winter mountaineering, or high-intensity activities in cold, wet weather. Compared to the standard Gamma, its fleece-lined interior delivers superior warmth while maintaining exceptional abrasion resistance, windproofing, light water resistance, and breathability. Hailed as the “warmest softshell champion,” it serves as a primary layer for fall/winter or a mid-layer in spring, and is exceptionally urban-commuter friendly.
Fabric: Fortius™ 2.0 double-knit softshell (with spandex) features a durable, abrasion-resistant outer layer and a soft fleece-backed interior for moderate insulation. The latest version upgrades to a PFAS-free FC0 DWR fluorine-free water-repellent coating for enhanced environmental sustainability and longevity.
Windproof & Water-Resistant: Excellent wind protection; withstands light to moderate rain/snow (excellent beading effect), but not fully waterproof (requires a hardshell overlay during prolonged heavy rain).
Breathability & Insulation: Fleece lining balances breathability and warmth, preventing sweat buildup during high-intensity activities, though slightly warmer than the lightweight Gamma (ideal for colder weather).
Weight & Fit: Men’s Hoody approx. 500-550g (M size). 2025 version features a looser fit for easy layering. Articulated seams and 4-way stretch allow extreme freedom of movement.
Hood (Hoody version): StormHood™ helmet-compatible hood with low-profile adjustment. Pockets & Details: Two hand pockets (seatbelt compatible), one internal chest pocket; WaterTight™ zippers; elastic cuffs, hem drawcord for wind protection.
