The Arc’teryx Gamma Jacket (Men’s, Hoodless Version) is the core versatile softshell jacket in the Gamma series, designed as an all-weather mid-layer or outer layer for moderate-intensity activities like hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing, and ski touring. It also excels for urban commuting. Compared to the hooded Gamma Hoody, it features a cleaner, more streamlined design with a stand-up collar (no hood, minimalist solid-color logo embroidery). Its core strengths lie in an exceptional balance of wind resistance, light water repellency, high breathability, unrestricted movement, and durability, earning it the reputation as a “classic all-around softshell.”
Fabric: Fortius™ double-knit softshell (with recycled content). Outer layer is durable and resilient; inner layer is smooth and comfortable. Latest PFAS-free fluorine-free DWR water-repellent coating for enhanced environmental sustainability and longevity.
Windproof & Water-Resistant: Excellent wind protection. Handles light rain and snow, but not fully waterproof (heavy rain requires a hardshell overlay).
Breathability: Exceptional. Four-way stretch + articulated joint design prevents sweat buildup during high-intensity activities. Weight & Fit: Midweight (approx. 400g for men’s size M). Trim Fit offers a sleek silhouette with room to move, ideal for layering.
